I have always wanted to publish some of my photographs on a webpage so have decided to create this blog. I am from the Furness area of South Cumbria, I love fellwalking and this is when I take most of my photographs. My camera is a Canon EOS 1000D with some earlier photos taken with a Powershot A550. I have no pretentions at being anything other than an amateur photographer and most of my photographs are taken on program mode. I then remove the exposure from the photographs using Microsoft Digital Image and otherwise the photos are unchanged from when I took them. Apart from walking and photography I enjoy cricket and pool.

In searching for images of Black Combe I came across your webblog. I am an artist, though I do not make a living from my art, and have been asked by a friend if I could do a painting of Black Combe. My work colleague has a static caravan on a park on the hill (Kirkby in Furness) ove looking the esturay onto Black Combe. I have on a couple of occassions passed that way, but the weather has been poor and I’ve not managed to get any good quality photos. The painting is for a 50th birthday gift.
I have asked his wife to view your website and images, and, if any of the photo’s are suitable, could I phone you to see if you have anymore that are not on your website, and if of course you would not mind me using them as painting reference.

I am planning to do a photography project in the area soon, and as part of my research I came across your images of Stanhope area. As an ex pat seeking information of the snow which has hit the Durham area i came across your webpage. You have some nice shots there and thanks for putting them “out there”
